It looks like Yokohama have a new 200TW tire out. Wonder if it's worth the ridiculous price.

They may be $500 more per set than RE71r's but you can mail away you can get a free Chelsea FC Home jersey!

I remember mailing in my General Mills proof of purchases for a sweet bulls starter coat.

Funny they make a 16" tire but not 15" for this competition tire. If you walk down the grid of any major autocross you'll see a lot more 15's than 16's. I think Yokohama is sort of out of touch, which also explains why they are three years late to the 200tw game.

My hunch is that they see themselves as the Japanese Michelin. They really don't seem interested in the 200tw grassroots motorsports market.

Another update in the 200TW tire wars:
Less than a year after the tepid response to their N'Fera SUR4, Nexen have updated it with a new compound and slapped a "G" on the end of the name.
https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...l=N+FERA+SUR4G

That "G" had better make it much better because the price has been brought up from the basement. The 255/40-17 SUR4G is now <$20 below the RE-71R (the non-"G" is still available for $60 less than the RE-71R).

Initial reviews that I've seen appear as though it is at least on par with the 71R.

I've seen those, too, but with no attribution \_(ツ)_/

There was this in the Feb-2017 edition of Sports Car:
http://www.sportscarmag-digital.com/...017?pg=52#pg52

Basically, Nexen came out and did a single-blinded test with Heitkotter and Isley as part of their development process. They had a team of engineers and 4 different tires stamped as SUR4 but labeled "A" - "D" and appeared to be benchmarking the RE-71R. Heitkotter drove his STU 350Z and Isley had a CS Toyobaru.
