No step on AutoX - Jeep Grand Cherokee or 4Runner?

I've got a 2010 Milan. It's fuckin perfect and I have no rational reason to get rid of it.

I know I posted this in the CII Facebook group months ago, but

Jeep Grand Cherokee (now that the Trailhawk variant is out)
Toyota 4Runner Trail Premium...

I'd like an SUV that isn't a station wagon with a high roof line

Tahoe LTZ?

I might actually talk myself in to it this year.

Drove a rental 2016 Tahoe over the Sierras. I broke the quadrasteer and hated the offset driving position. Otherwise a nice SUV well worth the asking price.

I've owned every generation of the Grand Cherokee up until the newest one, and have loved everyone of them. I know two people with them now and I don't think they have had any issues with them. At least I have not seen them in the shop, so I assume that means they are reliable.

In my experience 4Runners are super nice trucks, but stupid expensive. They do hold their value better than any other SUV though.

On a side note... welcome back to the site. I like that your account makes fun of thee people that have note posted on here in years. Welcome back, and I hope things are well.

I have a 2013 4Runner and it is magic. Pure magic.

I would have put the picture in the thread, but holy margin fuck, batman. the pic is huge.

Like others have said, the 4Runner takes all of your money to buy. Our plan is to own it until I retire (about 12 more years) so, I can justify spending the money on it. Also, it is super reliable.

I have owned a ton of jeeps. I just bought a 2011 Gran Cherokee with the hemi. 7300 lb towing and lots of options. Tough to complain. then again every jeep I have ever had has ben love hate. more capably than any other SUV when not in normal conditions, but fuel mileage sucks and trannies aren't the best.

I've had experience with 3 4th generation 4Runners. Some of the best vehicles I have ever driven. In that time (~16 years combined) there has been exactly one issue that wasn't normal wear and tear: Charcoal canister. That was expensive. Otherwise literally everything else has just been according to the service schedule. And most of those have been missed.

We also took it on the beach (Green Bay) and up a 20* grade on a sandy beach towing a boat. Made it with no problems--and that is a completely stock V6 on all seasons. Damn good vehicle.
