Chicago Region Autocross May 8th

Clark, Dave and I are going up to Joliet for this event. It's held at the Route 66 Raceway. Is anybody else interested in attending? Link to details.

I'd love to try an event up in Chicago some time, but mother's day is probably not the first one to go to.

Just a reminder to anybody considering this event, if you make your decision before Friday, it is $7 cheaper to register online vs. in person.

I'm definitely going to be there. It's about damned time I started racing this season.

How long does the event usually run? Any rules on spectators? I'm going to the AMG event next door but might be able to pop over to this on my way out there.

Their events are extremely efficiently run. Typical events have 150-160 participants and with 6 runs are done by 4:00 p.m. maybe 5:00. This event looks to be lightly attended with 54 pre-reg. right now which will grow to 90-100 by the end of pre-reg. My guess is around 135 which means we'll be done by 4:00 for sure. They don't let non-drivers ride along at Chicago SCCA which is a real plus at CCSCC but it's worth rolling over to this. The level of the drivers/cars, and the amount of cars dedicated strictly to autocross is a site to behold. The Autobahn is literally just a few miles away and certainly if you are in the area, it's worthwhile.
