October Autocross Showdown: Who Will Win?

Coming all the way from the fatherland, we have the segment analysis master, the track driving guru, HORNSWOGGLER!!!

And from the land of the rising sun, that skinny guy who loves the rhino hump and recently signed his balls away, DNACE!!!!

Who will taste victory? Can the ///M3 fend off the vattack of the S2000? Will Horny get lost in the sea of cones? Will Dnace get blown away by a gust of wind?

Go to the October Autocross to find out!!!

Collin can't even beat me...Dnace has this one wrapped up. Maybe this should be a 3 part series. AutoX, Track, and Drag...

For the record, if I don't go off-course (I have a bad habit of this..), I plan on improving my times with every run (my nature is to make incremental improvements rather than shotgun approach or overshooting it).

If I can keep it on course, I predict my raw times will be faster. Index will be tough as I am nowhere built to SM rules. I just get lumped in there due to building the car how I want it, rather than the rules. However, my tire advantage may be worth a second difference.

Those voting for dnace, are you choosing him based on auto-x driving proficiency/experience, PAX advantage, vehicle advantage (be specific), or just a guess?

I vote for me beating you but dnace beating me, lol.

I bet on dnace because he's got a lot of autox experience, a decent car for the job and will probably be better at not getting lost(main reason).

I hate to say it Collin but I think Dave is a sure thing.

It's my opinion that seat time is more important in autocross than it it is in road racing just due to the fact that the course changes every time. Being able to instinctively follow the course on just one or two walkthroughs goes along way. Even though Dave hasn't made it to many events this year, he's still been to more than you. Don't forget he's had Pete G. co-driving with him one or two times. Pete is easily near the top when it comes to quick autoxr's around these parts and I'm betting he was able to do a little coaching.

I'm sure you'll do your best, but I'm not sure you'll even beat him on raw time.

Like Joe said--maybe there can be a second round to this at a road course (even next year). Assuming you beat Dave at that event, can you beat him by more than he beat you at the autocross (assuming again that he wins). Now there's a competition.
