We're expecting to use about 50 cones and "keep as many cones as possible in the van". With that in mind, there will be lots of space to choose your line..........so choose wisely.
Come on out to Rantoul and enjoy what is looking like nice weather for a weekend of Autocross.

We hope to build a challenging, but very fun course. We look forward to seeing you out there!

Still have plenty of space left to come and challenge the cones. And based on someone's post earlier.......looks like there's a bet for the number of cones (not including pointers).

Haha, my south end courses have usually 22-25 key cones, everything else are visual aids placed by me (Chicago box walls, walls to mark the outside of turns, some gates leading to the next element, etc), the 30-40 cones in the finish shoot and lots and lots of pointer cones placed by over eager safety stewards under the disguise of helping Newbies to find the course.

So the bet is no more than 50 standing up cones on site, not counting grid or worker stations. If you can do it I pay your entree fee if not you pay mine. Deal?

PS: Making all the walls lay down pointer cones is cheating.

Wish I could get over there, but moving my daughter at ISU Saturday and son graduating U of I Sunday. My wife already said no side trips to Rantoul this weekend.

Silence, that's what I thought. I should've bet more money to make it worthwhile.

It was a fun event today. I heard a number of comments how the course was surprisingly fun, fast, slow, fast, fun.....we had a good turnout of 55 drivers today. Thanks to my co-chair, EricB, SSoR, AaronR for the event operations.

And, thanks to JaneV for sticking around and helping after the event, JohnV for helping on Friday, DennisM for Friday night help and Asst Safety, and so many other folks for working the course today and stepping up to assist the novices (Abe).

Come on back tomorrow and do it backwards........OH, we added a few penalty cones to the course because....it just needed it.

Another giant thank you to everyone who helped with the event on Sunday and to those folks who helped clean up at the end.

Thanks again to my co-chair for putting up with his co-chair for the weekend.

Great weather, fun course, great drivers, and good fun........thanks everyone!
