I have to be back in town to pick up the kids at 5:30 pm so I barring any customer emergency calls, I will be in Rantoul for setup around 2pm. Anyone who's able and interested is welcome to help and get an early look at tomorrow's course. Dennis who's safety steward of record won't be able to come out today and will aprons the course tomorrow morning. See you out there.

Not going to make it either day?

As far as me not being registered, if I present a free event voucher; does that include the onsite registration fee?

Sorry, just not making it out today. Planning to run both days.

Prereg makes it a whole lot easier to check you in on the computer regardless of form of payment.

Oh I see. Ok, ok I will preregister. Is it ok if I sign up for the sledding party on Sunday? Sam is going to bring his mini and i will co- drive that tomorrow.

Cool Pete.

Course is build with a long straight start as promised and then a long fast slalom, a wide 180 turn, another wide fast optional curved slalom, another wide 180 degree sweeper, some fast double S turns back to the sweeper, and an open Chicago box and an optional (in spirit at least ) three come slalom to the fast finish. And from what I can tell it works just as well the other way with very minor visual changes for Sunday.

Thanks a lot to Jane and Aaron for coming out to help.

If any of you is still on the fence, I think we pulled off an near national championship course. Don't want to bragg or anything but Jane and I worked very well together and barring Dennis's safety approval, I can't wait to drive this course on the limit. Every single gate is 20+feet wide and the shortest slalom distance (Chicago box) is 50 feet. The course requires looking ahead, slow hands and some cojones or whatever the femal counterpart to that is. Haha
Seriously once you see the videos you will regret to not have been there.

VERY excited now! Are we looking at a North or South-end grid/start/finish?

South end and typical W configuration, but speed maintenance all the way through the course with all open sweeping pick your line 180 turns. Easy to follow especially once the white lines are down, but hard to master.
I think the most difficult section may be the second S curved slalom and the long corner after where you need to go as close to the wall as possible on exit. Looking far ahead and picking your line will be extremely crucial for this course.

We may have to tweak it for safety, hence I'm not posting a map just yet. The finish turned out faster than I had intended and it might scare the safety steward. Haha
