I have some money burning a hole in my pocket and would like some opinions on what i should do next. I just bought wheels and tires. I am considering Axels to eliminate wheel hop, A custom tuned ECM, Headers, short throw shifter, ported throttle body. And any other suggestions.

uuc shifter is a must. I will have a uuc trans mount momentarily if you are looking for one.

Alot of people are going away from the uuc shifter on the cadillac forum. Most are using a modified stock one to save money. That is what i will probably do to as the guy that does them on that forum will also thread the top to i can use a hurst round shift knob.
I forgot to add that i dont want to do things to the car that will cause class problems for autox. i am not familiar yet with the rules

what are your plans for the car in the future? might make a difference in what you want to modify.
Edit: I just saw your post above, It looks like you would be in stock class now, but I am guessing headers, throttle body, tune, or axles would take you out of stock class

will the wheels i just added cause a class problem for me? They are 9 inches wide vs the stock 8.5 inches. I do currently have the stock tire size on them though i plan to go up to 265's all the way around.

If you are looking to burn some money and go faster, take it to the road course and run with the big boys.
Driver mod will make you faster than a silly widget.

Im very interested in getting on a track. I think i need some autox first. My only track time in a car is in a straight line. I did take my old bike around mid america but thats it. My wife is going to kill me as im already shopping for a track only toy. lol

Technically it ain't stock anymore, you can't increase the width or offset more than 1/4" on the wheel but you can use whatever size rubber you want! Silly rule, but it is what it is so hold onto your stock wheels if you plan on running stock. Pretty much anything other than shocks, front sway, and catback with bump you out of stock.
Edit* nevermind I just saw your mod list. The intake takes you out of stock as well.
Headers! Always a good power gain from a set of longtubes...

Just gut the V! It can be done. ;)
If you are more comfortable starting with autocross, check out the annual school at Rantoul in the spring, or an EVO school.

well if you want to remain in stock, the only things you can do are drop in filter, front sway bar, exhaust, shocks and grippier tires in the same size as stock rims.

The intake would be easy to change back but ive already sold 1 of my stock rims so i guess thats out. I dont really care what class im in as long as i can run. i just want to make sure i enjoy it as much as i think i will, then i will get a purpose built car.
That leads me to the thought that i shouldnt spend the money on the V for anything other than everyday drivability.

touche'. ;)
you either love it or you don't. and sometimes you have to get really anal about it to get to the point where you love it. car environment definitely presents unique challenges. that's the joy of it for me.

What mod should i do next?
well, that really depends on what you're in to. bwg is cut but a lughead, whereas dnace is pretty skinny but i've heard he's fun in the sack.

this is true choose one. I don't crush with my 12 year old girl muscles when I cuddle.
In all seriousness if oyu just want to drive the car and have fun and be decently competitive in autocross stay away from frame connectors and internal engine work. A lot of stuff is allowed in the STU class which the V qualifies for.

Have you considered a nice set of rubber for the stock wheels to auto x on??? Assuming the ones u just bought aren't a "good" auto x tire already.

The tires on my new wheels are very soft. I dont think they will last long on the street. I exspect that they will be good for the couple of events im trying to get to before the season is over. Bridgestone Potenza with a 140 tread wear. I got the team dynamics wheels and the tires with less than 2000 miles on them for around a $400 difference to the exspected sale price of my stock wheels with wore out nexen's on them/

its a drive! some like to wait till a Rantoul event for more wide open. but chances are you won't be driving crazy. keep competition mode on for now till you feel it getting in your way.

I was thinking it would be a good excuse to go to champaign for the weekend. How late into the afternoon does an event last?

Some of the best things you could put on the V to cure wheel hop and to prevent any breakage. Oh and take a look at the half shaft kits he makes kits called "anti wheel hop" half shaft kits. Chris is a top notch guy and will answer any questions you have and recommend whats best for your ride. For an idea how strong his stuff is he has a few aussie customers running his level 2 half shafts which are posted to withstand 1000rwhp and they have them on dedicated track cars with LSX motors pushing well into the 1500rwhp range and they have yet to break after nearly 2-3 years of abuse.

the gforce axels are in the top 3 on my list. I missed them for $100 off a while back and have been waiting on another deal.
