is it just me or did that whole course seem to be slalom cones. is that a nationals thing or is that the way it is done now.

looked like a lot of sweepers to me. pretty wide open for errors. I wish I would have gone now.

Yeah, but the course is chalked, all you have to do is color within the lines. :p

I think part of the theory behind none to minimal gates is that at the national level, people don't need gates because you only focus on the "inside" cone of the gate anyway.

It was basically a series of sweapers with a couple of slaloms. The only gate the whole weekend (other than the start and finish) was after the first slalom on Sunday.

It was a blast. There's one in Milwaukee if someone wants to go this weekend but I think the late fee is the same as the entry fee ($80). I'm going to most of the divisional races if anyone wants to start caravaning and spliting some hotels. As with the GASS event (and the national tour), they're a blast!

i didn't realize that it was chalked... that would make definitely make it easier to follow than the gates in rantoul.

i am looking forward to making it back to autoX. it has been far to long since i have been on track. and i am glad i will be out there in something that isn't a DSM. still going to get my ass kicked in SM but it will be fun.
