View Full Version : 6/17/08 Autobahn South w/ AMS

AMS is hosting an HPDE at Autobahn South next Tuesday, June 17, 2008. Verts are allowed and so are Snell M (motorcycle) helmets.

There will be classroom instruction and in-car instructors available. I will be giving ride-alongs all day. Spectators are welcome.

325's are very capable track cars. I bet you'll be impressed how well it does out there. Horsepower isnt as important as you might think!

yea hp might not be that important but that thing has some work done to it whereas mine doesnt

I still think you underestimate how track worthy a stock BMW 3-series (yes, even 325) really is. You should be able to pretty much drive there, remove floormats, and roll right onto the track and be fine.

besides, newbie group is 99% driver anyways... almost doesnt matter what you are in. I have instructed in 318's and other non-M 3-series and they were ALL FUN. :)

Forecast is looking great for Tuesday! 73 degrees, partly sunny, 20% chance of rain... about as good as you can expect lately. :)

This was a very awesome event. Weather was PERFECT... low 70's and mostly sunny.

Only one small incident where a car got backed into the tire barrier but looked like a very light impact. Oh, and a car early in the day needed towed off for some reason but didnt see any damage. Not too bad for a track day. NASA events seem to have 10x the incident excitement.

Should have brought my camera but will pass along any pics I find. Saw some hopped-up cars, including tuner versions of the EVO X and new STI.
