Auto-x School
April 14 & 15, 2007 at Rantoul Aviation Center
Cost $75.00 includes lunch on Saturday and test and tune on Sunday. Contact Pete Hetman at phetman@uiuc.edu mail registration to
Pete Hetman
501 Linden
Saint Joseph, IL 61873
Payment must be in advance and last day for registration will be April 7, 2007. Registration will be confirmed by e-mail if possible, or by post card if there is no e-mail address. Last day to Cancel if you can’t make it, is also the 7th. We will try to have 2 drivers per instructor. Class size is limited to 30 students; so the earlier you register the more likely you will get into the class.
If you are under 18, you must register by the 30th of March, so I can get waivers to you in time for the school. Minor waivers must be notarized unless, at least 1 parent shows up at the school. If you have any questions e-mail me. Checks should be made out to CIR-SCCA .
There will be an experienced drivers school on Saturday morning. The cost will be the same as the beginning class.
The beginning class will be starting at 8:30 on Saturday and be in the class room all morning.
The advanced class will be on the course Saturday morning also starting at 8:30. The advanced class will be in 2 groups, while one group runs the other works. The advanced class will also work the afternoon session for the beginning class. If you don’t want to do this, don’t sign up.
Lunch for Saturday will be Subway sandwiches. If you have special diet concerns, please let me know, or there may not be anything for you to eat.
For the Test & Tune NO advance registration. Registration will be $25.
We will divide the drivers into 3 groups and 1 group will work the course while the other 2 groups run.
Please print, if I can't read it, you may not get a notice that you are registered.

Thanks Dave for the quick reply. If you bring your own Helmet it must be Snell 1995 or newer.

I do believe the rules changed and helmets have to be Snell2000 or newer now.

The helmet rule will not change until the new snell rating comes out in 2010. It has always been the current snell rating plus the last 2 for auto-x. For tracks it is Snell SA 2000 or newer.

Bump for only a few spots left for the beginner class! I believe Pete said there's only room for about 7 more people; so if you've been debating going it's time to register as it will fill up fast!
We're also in need of another instructor or two if anyone else knows someone who hasn't already been contacted.

I think we're up to around 23 for the beginners and 8 for the advanced. The cutoff is 30. Russ is in charge of the advanced school. I'm hoping I'm teach/helping with the beginners as I don't think I need to help teach the advanced course, maybe after I go to the Evolution school then maaaaybe.

What time does the TnT start tomorrow? Is it starting at the normal time (registration by 10) or is it starting earlier(8.30)? I don't want to be late...or too early.
Thanks!

The drivers meeting is at 11:00 so I would assume registration would end around 10.
I'm getting there around 9.

Good to see everyone again!
I'm hoping to make it to next Sunday's event too, if I have enough time next weekend to track down/fix the massive vacuum leak on the Rabrat...
