It's the only XT6 I know of in the region that autocrosses, so yeah, you probably have. :D

I just moved up here at the end of the year. I ran the Sept and Nov events. No other EVOs in the field either time......actually there was a blue one in the early Sept events.
I hope to do well this year. I just need to figure out how to beat Russ in the yellow Z06.

Oh, I've seen ya ... welcome 'back'. Hope to see you at auto-x. That's as much a function of ME getting to them as it is you!

I was running either BSP or SM. I was finishing second to Russ on raw time for street cars at most of the events (my first two events I was running street tires).
Yes, I have modifications. All the normal bolt on stuff.

yesssss less competitors in A-stock. Then again I am looking for a challenge. I am running street tires this year so I hope there is someone in a-stock with street tires I can drvie against.

I doubt I'll get FTD there. It will be fun though.

Good tires make a huge diference in autox. I used to run street tires in BSP.....hopeless.
Just got my fender rolling tool in the mail today. Time for some reformation. :D

my goal this year is to learn the car on street tires and more streetable brakes on auto-x and the roadrace. More driver work I guess then next year r-compounds and better brakes to really see its strength

You'll stand a very good chance to win the new "street tire" trophy at just about any event you show up to, then... as long as Eric Webb isn't there in that Hyundai of his. :D

I noticed that it actually requires a different driving style between street and r-compound tires. The r-compunds are always faster than street of course but getting the most out of a r-compound requires different techniques than street tires.
For example, if I drove my Hoosiers into a corner the same way I drove my Falkens, I would bind up and end up going too slow due to too much traction. This diference is due to the fact that my car rotates much better meaning I'm having to switch from the old slow in fast out of AWD to more of a fast in slow out due to some oversteer and better braking ability.
Does A-stock allow for suspension mods? R-compounds will be limited by stock camber settings and spring rates. I gained almost a second per run by switching from -1.3 to -2.5 camber in the front. This year I'm going to try running -3 in the front with the Hoosiers.
That's cool that they have a street tire trophy. I wish they had that when I was in Memphis. I wouldn't of won because the best driver down there drove an EVO with street tires. He was an animal, at one of the events he was only a second behind an evo with r-compounds on a 70 second course! The r-compound EVO was on stock suspension which gets back to my earlier point.

Well the A stock allows adjustable front swaybars which is HUUGE for an s2k. you can tune out the oversteer and make a great car. However the bar is $700. We will see how money is.

This is the range I was thinking about for alignment, but depends on how much street driving I do. The s2k hasa pretty huge range of stock adjustment though.

Front toe - 0" to 1/8" toe out
Front camber - -1.5 to -1.75 degrees
Rear toe - 1/4" to 3/8" toe in
Rear camber - -2.0 to -2.25 degrees

2002 s2000 national champion's setup:
Camber -1.8 Front, -2.6 rear, about 3/8" total toe in rear (0 front)

I used to have an S2000. I had a red 2001 for about three years before the EVO. Fun car. It definitely oversteered at the limit.
You will probably still need after market suspension for r-compounds. For the stiffer spring rates and added clearance if you decide to go with bigger wheels and tires. My 285/30's wouldn't even come close to fitting with the stock suspension. They still don't fit without spacers in the front.
Every car is different so I can only speak for EVO's.

Top 3 index's for street tires. There's not a seperate class or anything, just another set of awards based on the PAX for their class.
