if you are running the full roadcourse there you better be able to get farther than 3rd gear. i used to be in 5th by the end of the front straight.
or do they limit your top speed?

No, there is no limit on speed. This is the first year they are going to hold a drift event on that course. They had some locals try it out and I'm not sure what level they are. That was just a rough estimate by what they saw them doing. This PROMISES to be a pretty balls out event. They just need a couple more people to sign up. The clubfr guys and the local crew will be there, so you are basically getting drifting lessons too if you are new. This is an amazing track for them to get and I really hate missing out just watching the action or driving (55whp on fast track=teh suck).
I'll just got up there and drive like a normal person and beat everyone elses times.

Its not timed... I don't know when drifting has ever really been a timed sport. When there is a competition, (which we rarely have because most people just don't like them) all driving and winners are judged. Drifting is a subjective sport, yes speed is a big part of it but its not the only factor. There is a debate about it in Ghey's "drifting is gay" thread (please keep the debate there). Most the days I'll post is just going out and seeing what your car can do. Its a get-in-line-and-go when you want set up. If what I post is a competition I will let you guys/gals know.

that would be funny if you just ran it like a regular course. I mean the price could be worth it haha

If you want to run the regular course go to Rockford Speedway on certain days, they let you do it for free sometimes. I believe a few years ago they did run the regular course and everyone got board with it. Then came the figure 8 which was boring too. Now this, which is technical, fast, and fun.
